Emergency help 24/7
Even on the best-planned trip something can happen: a passport goes missing, a bag is stolen, a car is in an accident or someone falls ill. In a foreign country and a foreign language, everything is twice as hard. In this section we explain who to call first, how we help 24/7 and where our role ends, because in an emergency clarity matters most.

Who this is for
Tourists, business visitors and foreigners living in Georgia who find themselves in an unexpected situation.
Also family members abroad trying to help someone close to them.
Our role
We are not the police, an ambulance or a lawyer: we help with language, information and reaching the right service.
You pay specialists directly, and we never hold your money. We take no commission from partners, and our fee is agreed as soon as the situation allows.
First step: 112
Georgia's single emergency number is 112: police, ambulance and fire service.
In a situation that threatens life or health, call 112 first and only then us.
Our call cannot replace 112, which is why we always repeat this order.
When to call us
When the immediate danger has passed but language, documents or the next step are a struggle.
When you do not know which service to turn to, or you would like someone at your side.
And when you need an interpreter while talking to 112.
The 24/7 hotline
Our hotline answers at any hour of the day or night, including weekends and holidays.
A call is the fastest way; a messenger is handy when you cannot speak.
Save our number in your phone as soon as you arrive.
What we need when you call
Where you are, what happened, who is affected and what help has already been called.
A phone number we can call you back on.
If possible, your insurance policy number and a photo of your passport.
Sharing your location
If you do not know the exact address, send us your location from your phone by messenger.
In the mountains or on the road, a nearby landmark, kilometre marker or village name helps a great deal.
We explain the location to the 112 operator precisely too.
The language barrier
112 operators often speak English or Russian, but not always.
If the conversation is not working, we set up a three-way call or interpret by phone.
On the spot, at a hospital or police station, we send an interpreter if needed.
Medical emergencies
With severe pain, difficulty breathing, loss of consciousness or serious injury, call 112 at once.
Afterwards we help with interpreting at the hospital, contacting the insurer and informing family.
We give no medical advice: the doctor makes the decisions.
The insurer's hotline
In a medical case, contact your insurer's assistance service as early as you reasonably can.
Many policies choose the clinic themselves or require prior approval.
We help with correspondence with the insurer and gathering the documents needed.
Night clinics and pharmacies
In large cities there are clinics and pharmacies open around the clock.
We tell you the nearest one that is open and call a taxi if needed.
We write about doctor's visits separately in the health section.
Road accidents
In an accident, first look after the injured and call 112, then wait for the police.
Do not move the car before the police arrive unless safety requires it.
Photograph everything: the cars, number plates, the road and the damage.
Rental cars
If a rental car is in an accident, inform the rental company and insurer at once.
A police report is often essential for the insurer and the company.
We read the rental terms together and plan the next step.
Breakdowns
If the car breaks down, stop safely at the roadside and switch on the hazard lights.
We call the rental company or a tow truck, and meanwhile you wait away from the road.
Standing alone on a mountain road at night is dangerous, so we send a driver or taxi.
Fire
In a fire, leave the building at once, do not use the lift and call 112.
When checking into a hotel, look at the evacuation plan and exit in advance.
Do not think about belongings: everything can be replaced except a life.
Natural events
Georgia sometimes has earthquakes, floods, landslides or mountain roads closed by snow.
In such cases, follow the instructions of local authorities and rescuers.
We always check road conditions and weather warnings before a mountain route.
In the mountains
If you get lost or injured in the mountains, call 112, which connects the rescue service.
Stay where you are, keep warm and save your phone battery.
Before a hike, always leave your route and return time with someone.
A missing person
If a companion or child goes missing, first check the nearby area and call 112.
Give the police a photo, a description of clothing and the place last seen.
We help with interpreting and contact with family, the hotel and the embassy.
A photo of your child every day
When travelling with a child, take a photo each morning in the clothes they are wearing.
Write your number in the child's pocket or on a wristband.
This small habit speeds up a search dramatically if the child gets lost.
Theft
After a theft, block your cards first and then go to the police.
A police certificate is often essential for insurance and replacing documents.
We write about going to the police with an interpreter on a separate page.
Fraud
If money was taken through a fake offer, online or in the street, report it to the police and your bank at once.
Start disputing the payment with your bank as early as possible.
Keep all correspondence, receipts and screenshots.
Lost documents
If you lose your passport, go to the police and then your embassy.
The embassy usually issues an emergency travel document or a new passport.
We give the details on the separate lost-documents page.
Phones and cards
If you lose your phone, first block the SIM and banking apps.
If you lose a card, call your bank's international number.
Contact us from another phone or the hotel, and we help with the rest.
The police
Georgia's patrol police generally respond quickly and behave correctly.
We help with writing the report, interpreting and getting a copy of the record.
We give the details on the separate police page.
Arrest
If you are detained, stay calm and do not sign any document you do not understand.
You have the right to ask for a lawyer, an interpreter and for your embassy to be informed.
We give no legal advice, but we help you reach a lawyer and your embassy.
Lawyers
In an official or legal matter you need a lawyer, not a concierge.
We connect you with a lawyer who works in your language or with an interpreter.
You pay the lawyer directly, on their terms.
Embassies
An embassy or consulate helps its citizens with documents, arrest and serious situations.
Save your embassy's emergency number in your phone before the trip.
We write about contacting the embassy on a separate page.
Repatriation
Medical repatriation is usually arranged by the insurer, based on the doctors' assessment.
In the most serious case, a death, we help the family together with the embassy, the insurer and a specialist service.
We give the details on the separate repatriation page.
Money in an emergency
If you have lost your cards and money, you can receive an international transfer from family or a friend.
To collect a transfer you usually need an identity document.
We do not lend or carry money, but we show you how to receive it.
Cancelled flights
If a flight is cancelled or delayed, we check the airline's obligations and passenger rights.
We look for accommodation and a new flight together with the airline.
Keep receipts for expenses for reimbursement.
Hotel problems
If a hotel cannot honour your booking or the room is unsafe, we find an alternative urgently.
Photograph the problem and ask the hotel for a written explanation.
We work with the hotel or booking platform on getting your money back.
Closed roads and borders
Mountain roads sometimes close because of snow or landslides, and the route changes.
Border arrangements sometimes change unexpectedly, and we check them in advance.
In such cases we look for accommodation and an alternative route.
Visa or stay limits
If you are going to exceed your permitted stay, ignoring it is not the answer.
Consulting the official authority or a lawyer in advance reduces the problem.
We write about visa rules in the information section.
Children and emergencies
If a child falls ill suddenly, call 112 or go to a children's clinic.
Always carry the child's documents, vaccination record and insurance.
We write about travelling with children in the family section.
Older guests
An older guest's list of medicines and conditions is kept on the phone and on paper.
Such a list saves the doctor time in an emergency.
We write about travel for older guests in the family section.
Psychological support
After a serious event, fear, panic or confusion are normal reactions.
If needed, we connect you with a psychologist in your language or with an interpreter.
Sometimes a calm voice on the phone is already a great help.
Informing family
With your consent we tell your family what has happened and what is happening now.
We give the family one contact person so information does not get muddled.
We share no more than the information you specify.
Violence and harassment
In a case of violence or harassment, call 112 and go to a safe place.
If needed, we connect you with services that support women and victims of violence.
We keep your information strictly confidential.
Animal bites
After a dog or other animal bite, wash the wound well and go to a clinic.
The doctor decides whether a rabies vaccine is needed, and you should not delay it.
We quickly find you the nearest clinic and transport.
Food poisoning
With an upset stomach, drink plenty of fluids and see a doctor if things get worse.
With blood, a high temperature or severe dehydration, call 112 at once.
We tell you the nearest pharmacy and clinic.
Heat
In summer heat, dizziness, nausea and weakness can be signs of heatstroke.
Move the person to a cool, shady place and give them water.
If their condition worsens, call 112.
Strong drinks
Chacha and homemade wine are strong, and moderation at the table is also a safety matter.
Never drive after drinking: the country has strict rules on this.
After a feast we arrange reliable transport back to the hotel.
Lost in the city
In case you lose your way in town and your phone is dead, carry the hotel's card.
Show the card to a taxi driver or shop assistant.
Write our number on paper too, in case your phone is lost.
Corruption and bribes
In Georgia, offering a bribe to patrol police or public services is a crime.
Never offer money to an official, even if you want the situation resolved quickly.
We never take part in such actions either.
Copies of documents
Keep copies of your passport, visa, insurance and tickets in the cloud and on paper.
A copy greatly speeds up replacing a lost document.
Carry the copies separately from the originals.
An emergency contact list
Keep in one place on your phone: 112, our line, your embassy, your insurer and your family.
Keep the same list on paper in your wallet too.
Send your family your route and hotel address as well.
Preparing before the trip
Buy insurance that covers medical care, repatriation and your activities.
Register your trip in your embassy's registration system, if your country has one.
Tell your bank about the trip and keep a spare card separately.
Hotel safety
Lock your room door at night and keep valuables in the safe.
Do not open the door to a stranger claiming to be hotel staff until you have checked with reception.
Find the evacuation exit on your first day.
What we do not do
We cannot replace 112, the police, the ambulance service or a lawyer.
We give no medical or legal advice, and we do not lend or hold money.
We never take part in anything unlawful, such as bribery.
Confidentiality
We share information received in an emergency only with the service that needs it.
We inform family or an employer only with your consent.
We do not keep your documents and data longer than needed once the matter is closed.
Common mistakes
Calling us first and 112 second in a life-threatening situation.
Signing a document you do not understand at a police station or hospital.
Informing the insurer's hotline too late.
What we need from you
Where you are and what happened, as briefly and precisely as possible.
Your number, a photo of your passport and your insurance policy, if available.
Who we may inform and who we may not.
Cost
Specialists, clinics, lawyers and interpreters set their own prices, and you pay them directly.
We take no commission from partners and add nothing to their prices.
Our fee depends on the scope of the matter and is agreed as soon as the situation allows.
