Gift cards
Sometimes the best present is something you cannot put on a shelf: an evening at a Georgian feast, a morning in the sulphur baths or a day in the mountains. A gift card gives such an experience a lovely form and leaves the recipient free to choose the date. On this page we explain how our cards work, why each one covers a specific experience and how to avoid the most common mistakes.

Booking for the recipient
Choosing a date, confirmation and practical tips.
Who this is for
People who want to give someone in Georgia, or coming to Georgia, an experience instead of an object.
Also companies rewarding staff and partners, and couples whose guests give honeymoon experiences.
Our role
Our gift card is issued for a specific experience: a wine class, a spa, a tour or another service.
You pay the provider directly for the experience, and the provider confirms the voucher in writing; we never hold your money. We design the card, arrange the booking and oversee everything, and our fee is agreed in advance.
Why not a cash card
We do not issue open-value cards that can be spent on anything.
Such a card would mean holding other people's money, which goes against our principle.
Instead, a card always covers a specific, clear experience, which is more personal for the recipient too.
When a card covers our own service
If a card covers our own service, such as a shopping assistant day or trip planning, you pay its value to us as our fee.
In that case no other provider's money passes through us.
The card always states who delivers the service and who was paid.
What you can give
A wine tasting or masterclass, a cooking class, a Georgian dance or language lesson.
The sulphur baths, a spa, a photoshoot or a folklore evening.
A day tour, a transfer, an enamel workshop or the first step towards a tailored chokha.
How it works
First we choose the experience and check that the provider can deliver it in the period you want.
Then you pay the provider directly, and the provider confirms the voucher in writing.
Finally we prepare a personal card and hand it to the recipient.
Open dates
A card is usually issued with an open date, and the recipient chooses a convenient day.
The provider sets the validity period, and it is stated clearly on the card.
For a seasonal experience, such as a mountain tour, validity matches the season.
Personalisation
The card carries the recipient's name, your message and a short description of the experience.
We choose the design to suit the occasion: a birthday, wedding, anniversary or a thank-you.
Some people give the card with the name written in Georgian letters, as a small piece of Georgia.
Language
We prepare the card in any of the six languages our site works in.
Where needed we make a bilingual card, in the recipient's and the provider's languages.
The terms must always be clear in a language the recipient understands.
Digital card
We send a digital card by email or messenger.
It is usually ready in a day or two, which makes it ideal for a last-minute gift.
A digital card lives on the phone, with no risk of losing it.
Printed card
A printed card is handed over in a handsome envelope or box.
In Tbilisi we deliver it in person or by courier, and abroad we send it by post.
A printed card takes longer, so we order it in advance.
Card design
Georgian motifs often appear in the design: the vine, the borjgali or the balconies of old Tbilisi.
A corporate card is made in the company's colours, a personal one in the mood of the occasion.
We send you the design sketch for approval.
Terms on the card
The card states what the experience includes and what it does not, such as transport or drinks.
It also gives the validity period, how to book and the terms for changing the date.
To avoid misunderstanding we write everything in plain language.
Booking
The recipient contacts us, and we choose the date together with the provider.
After booking we send the recipient the confirmation, the address and practical tips.
If you wish, we let you know that the gift has been used.
Changing the date
The provider sets the rules for changing the date, and we explain them before you buy.
In case of illness or bad weather we can usually find a new date.
Some providers will not reinstate an experience cancelled at the last minute.
Refunds
Refund terms are set by the provider's rules.
We request these terms in writing before purchase, so there are no surprises later.
Because the money sits with the provider, the provider makes any refund, and we oversee the process.
Passing it on
A card can often be passed to another person, if the provider agrees.
In that case we change the name on the card and inform the provider.
Whether it can be passed on is stated on the card itself.
Age and health
Some experiences have age or health restrictions.
Wine tastings are for adults only, and some spa treatments are not recommended during pregnancy.
So before buying we ask about anything concerning the recipient that affects the choice.
Alcohol and faith
Not everyone drinks alcohol, and a wine card is not the right gift for everyone.
In that case we suggest a cooking class, a spa or a tour.
We agree a halal or vegetarian cooking class with the provider in advance.
Accessibility
If the recipient has limited mobility, we choose an experience at an accessible venue.
Some tours and workshops involve stairs and long walks, and we check this in advance.
Where needed we build transport and a companion into the card.
For a couple or family
A card can be issued for two people or a whole family.
For a family card we choose an experience suited to children, such as a workshop or a horse ride.
The number of participants is clearly stated on the card.
For loved ones from abroad
People living abroad often give an experience to a parent, friend or student in Georgia.
In that case we deliver the card locally and help the recipient book.
Even from afar, the giver can be sure the gift arrived on time and beautifully.
For a future trip
A card can be given to someone who is only now planning to come to Georgia.
Such a card is also an incentive to plan the trip.
In this case we agree a longer validity with the provider where possible.
A card for yourself
Some travellers order a card for themselves or a travel companion, as a surprise within the trip.
That way one day of the trip is planned and paid in advance, with freedom over the date.
This is especially handy when the exact trip schedule is not yet known.
A surprise
To arrange a surprise we work quietly with a family member or friend.
We choose the date so that the recipient is free but suspects nothing.
We hand over the card at an unexpected moment, such as at dinner.
A wedding gift list
Some couples offer guests a list of honeymoon experiences instead of objects.
Each guest chooses a specific experience and pays the provider directly.
We neither collect nor hold a shared pot of money, and the list is transparent for both sides.
Corporate cards
Companies often reward staff at the end of the year or after a successful project.
Some companies prefer employees to choose from several experiences themselves.
We make the card in the company's style, with its logo.
Invoices
For a corporate order, providers send their invoices directly to the company.
The tax treatment of gifts is a matter for the company's accountant.
We send the invoice for our fee separately.
A series of cards
For a large number, each card gets its own number and the recipient's name.
We track usage in one spreadsheet, which is also sent to the company.
That shows who has used their card and who needs a reminder.
A unique number
Every card has a unique number held in our records and the provider's.
Anyone can check a card is genuine by contacting us.
We advise against posting a card's number on social media.
A lost card
If a card is lost, we reissue it by its number.
The old number is cancelled at that point, so no one else can use it.
We always keep a digital copy.
Expiry reminders
With the giver's consent we remind the recipient before the card expires.
Many cards go unused simply because they are forgotten, and a reminder prevents that.
If the card expires anyway, we ask the provider for an extension, though that is their decision.
Personal data
We use the recipient's name and contact only to organise the gift.
The provider receives only the information needed for the booking.
After use we do not keep the data longer than necessary.
Several cards in one day
Several cards can be combined into one day, such as a workshop and a dinner.
We arrange such a day as one plan, with transport.
This works especially well for an anniversary or a honeymoon day.
Seasonal ideas
Before New Year the most popular gifts are a spa, a dinner and a folklore evening.
In the grape-harvest season in autumn, wine and cellar experiences are at their liveliest.
In spring and early summer, mountain and nature tours are best.
A folklore evening as a gift
A Georgian feast with polyphony and dance is one of the most memorable gifts.
It is lovely for two and for a large family alike.
We write about such evenings in the events section.
For a birthday
Friends often give a birthday card together.
Here too each pays their share directly to the provider, or one person pays and the friends settle up with them.
The card can carry the names of all the givers.
For a child
Children love a workshop most, where they make something with their own hands.
A Georgian alphabet or dance lesson is also a good idea.
A child's card always includes a parent coming along.
For an older person
An older person often enjoys a calm experience: a concert, a dinner with music or a spa resort.
We build transport and a short route into the card itself.
We print the card in a large, easy-to-read font.
A card as a thank-you
A card makes a fine thank-you for a host, friend or colleague who helped you on your trip.
Such a gift says more than an object, because it gives time and an experience.
A short, sincere message gives the card its greatest value.
Choosing the provider
We only put providers on a card whom we already work with and whose quality we know.
We take no commission from providers, so we choose them by quality.
If the recipient's experience turns out badly, we sort it out with the provider.
The recipient's feedback
After use we ask the recipient how it went.
With their consent, we share their words with the giver.
Feedback also helps us choose providers.
A last-minute gift
We often prepare a digital card the same or the next day.
In that case we choose an experience the provider can confirm quickly.
We cannot promise a printed card at the last minute.
Card and photo
A shared photo or memory can be added to the card.
We use a photo only with the consent of the people in it.
On a printed card we check the photo quality before printing.
A chokha or jewellery card
A card for a made-to-order chokha, dress or enamel piece solves the problem of size and taste.
The recipient meets the tailor or master and chooses everything themselves.
Such a card often covers the first meeting and part of the value, and the recipient decides the rest.
When an experience falls through
If a provider can no longer deliver the service, we ask for an alternative or a refund.
In that case we inform the recipient and the giver immediately.
We change to an alternative only with your consent.
Weather and season
Outdoor experiences, such as a tour or photoshoot, depend on the weather.
In bad weather we change the date or offer an indoor alternative.
In winter some mountain roads are closed, and we take this into account when setting validity.
Transport in the card
Including transport in the card spares the recipient an extra worry.
If transport is not included, the card says so clearly.
We arrange transfers and drivers separately, through our transport section.
How to choose
The best gift speaks to the recipient's interests, not to its price.
If you are unsure what to choose, a short questionnaire helps us learn the recipient's interests.
Sometimes a card with two or three options, from which the recipient picks, is best.
Common mistakes
A wine card for someone who does not drink alcohol.
A seasonal experience with validity that does not match the season.
A card without terms, so the recipient does not know what it includes.
What we need from you
Who the gift is for and what interests them.
The experience you have in mind, the number of participants and the period.
The card's language, format and the text of your message.
Cost
The provider sets the price of the experience, and you pay them directly.
We take no commission from providers and add nothing to their prices.
The fee for designing the card and organising is separate and agreed in advance.
