Reservations: restaurants, culture and relaxation
The best places often fill up in advance: a Saturday dinner at a well-known restaurant, an opera premiere or a private room at the sulphur baths in the evening. We choose a place to suit your taste, book it, confirm the details and reconfirm the day before. On this page we explain what we book, how we work and what to know so your evening goes to plan.

Who this is for
Guests on a short visit who want the best places without standing in queues.
Also couples, families, groups and companies planning a special evening.
Our role
We choose the place, book it in your name, confirm the details and reconfirm the day before.
You pay the bill on site or at the official box office directly, and we never hold your money. We take no commission from venues, and our fee is agreed in advance.
What we book
Restaurants, a Georgian feast, opera, theatre, concerts and festivals.
Sulphur baths, spa, massage, tastings and cooking or craft masterclasses.
Also group museum tours and sports matches, where tickets are sold officially.
Why book ahead
At Tbilisi's well-known restaurants, weekend evenings often fill up several days ahead.
Tickets for opera premieres and popular concerts sell weeks in advance.
Booking ahead keeps the best table, seat and time for you.
Choosing a restaurant
We choose a restaurant by cuisine, atmosphere, noise level and your budget.
Some want traditional Georgian dishes, some a modern take, and some international food.
We send you two or three options with a short description, and you choose.
A Georgian feast for a group
For a group, a Georgian feast is arranged with a tamada, toasts and dishes ordered to share.
The host or guide often takes the tamada's role and explains the tradition to guests.
We agree the feast menu and length with the restaurant in advance.
Live music and folklore
Some restaurants have Georgian polyphony, a folk ensemble or dancing in the evening.
We check the programme's day and time in advance, as it is not every day.
If you want a quiet conversation, we ask for a table away from the stage.
Terraces and views
In summer, restaurants with a terrace overlooking the old town or the river are most in demand.
A terrace table often needs a separate booking and may be moved inside because of the weather.
We know the sunset time in advance and plan the booking around it.
Dietary needs
We tell the restaurant in advance about vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal or allergy requirements.
Walnuts are very common in Georgian cooking, so we are especially careful with nut allergies.
We write about halal and kosher food separately in the family section.
Children at restaurants
Georgian restaurants usually welcome children warmly.
We ask in advance for a high chair, a simple dish and a play corner.
For families we book an early dinner, while the room is still calm.
Birthdays and surprises
For a birthday we agree a cake, flowers or candles with the restaurant in advance.
Some restaurants make their own cake, while others accept one brought in.
We confirm the timing and form of the surprise in advance so everything feels natural.
A romantic dinner
For a proposal or an anniversary we choose a cosy corner, a view and suitable music.
We arrange the ring, flowers and a photographer discreetly with the restaurant.
We write about planning a wedding in the wedding section.
Large groups and prepayment
For a large group a restaurant often asks for a set menu and a partial prepayment.
You pay the prepayment to the restaurant directly, by official invoice or card.
We never take or carry the money.
Agreeing the menu in advance
For a group dinner the menu is agreed in advance so the kitchen can prepare in time.
We confirm the number of dishes, their order and the drinks.
For a guest with dietary needs we request a separate dish in advance.
The wine list
Many restaurants have a wide choice of Georgian wine, including qvevri wine.
The sommelier's or host's advice often leads to the most interesting discovery.
If you would like an alcohol-free table, we let the restaurant know in advance.
Breakfast and brunch
Weekend brunch is popular in Tbilisi's cafes, and the best tables fill up in the morning.
A Georgian breakfast often brings together khachapuri, matsoni, fruit and coffee.
Before an early flight we book breakfast near the hotel, allowing for the cafe's opening time.
Running late
A popular restaurant sometimes holds a table only briefly if you are late.
If you are running late, we or you let the restaurant know at once.
We plan transfers so you are not held up in traffic.
Cancellations and no-shows
The venue sets the cancellation terms, and we tell you them before booking.
If your plans change, write to us as early as possible so the table can go to another guest.
A no-show damages our relationship with the restaurant, so we ask this of you honestly.
Opera and ballet
The Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre is one of the city's most beautiful buildings.
We check the repertoire against your dates and choose seats by view and budget.
The opera and ballet season usually runs from autumn to spring, though there are performances in summer too.
Drama theatre
The Rustaveli, Marjanishvili and other theatres are the pride of the Georgian stage.
Georgian productions sometimes have subtitles, and we check this in advance.
Even without subtitles, some productions are understandable to everyone through music and movement.
Concerts
Classical, jazz and contemporary music concerts are frequent in Tbilisi.
We check the programmes of the philharmonic and concert halls against your visit dates.
Tickets for popular concerts sell fast, so decide in good time.
Polyphony concerts
Georgian polyphonic singing is on UNESCO's intangible heritage list, and hearing it live is a special experience.
Ensembles perform in churches, concert halls or at private gatherings.
For a group, a private meeting with an ensemble can also be arranged by prior agreement.
Festivals
Jazz, wine, film and folk art festivals take place at different times of the year.
During festival days hotels and restaurants fill up early.
We write about the festival calendar in the events section.
Sport
Rugby and football are very popular in Georgia, and the atmosphere of a big match is unforgettable.
Buy tickets only from the official seller.
We plan transport to and from the stadium in advance, as taxis are hard to find after a match.
Official ticket sources
Buy tickets only at the official box office or official website.
A reseller's ticket may turn out to be fake or very expensive.
We do not sell tickets above face value or connect you with resellers.
Choosing seats
We choose seats by view, acoustics, legroom and the number of stairs.
The balcony sometimes offers a better view than the back rows of the stalls.
With limited mobility we confirm an accessible seat and entrance in advance.
Dress code
At the opera and elegant restaurants guests usually dress smartly.
A strict dress code is rare, but in sportswear you may feel out of place at an evening performance.
If you are unsure what to wear, we advise in advance.
Group museum tours
Some museums require group tours and special halls to be booked in advance.
Visiting the Treasury and other protected collections sometimes needs a separate ticket.
We allow for museums' closing days and hours.
Sulphur baths
We book a private bath room for one or two hours, with a massage or scrub if you like.
For evenings and weekends it is better to book a few days ahead.
With a health condition, ask your doctor before going into the hot water.
Spa and massage
We book massages and treatments at a hotel spa or an independent salon at a time that suits you.
We confirm the massage therapist's gender and the type of massage in advance.
After a long trip, a massage is often the best present you can give yourself.
Tastings
We book tastings in advance at a winery, a wine bar or a cheese and honey house.
A tasting is far more interesting with the host's stories and local food.
We write about wine tours separately in the tours section.
Cooking masterclasses
A class in making khinkali, khachapuri or churchkhela is held with a family or at a cooking studio.
We confirm group size, language and dietary needs in advance.
We write about masterclasses in a separate section.
Craft masterclasses
At an enamel, ceramics, carpet or woodcarving workshop you can make your own piece.
Workshops are often small, with room for only a few guests.
We check drying or firing times in advance so you receive your piece before leaving.
Nightlife
Tbilisi's bars, jazz clubs and nightclubs are increasingly known across Europe.
At some clubs entry is decided at the door, and a booking does not always guarantee it.
We arrange a reliable taxi or driver for getting back at night.
Cinema
In Tbilisi's cinemas films are sometimes shown in the original language and sometimes dubbed.
We check the screening's language and subtitles before you buy a ticket.
In summer there are open-air screenings too, a pleasant way to extend a warm evening.
Transport
Along with the booking we plan transport: a car or taxi at your time.
We allow for evening traffic so you are not late for a performance or dinner.
We write about transfers in the transport section.
Accessibility
For a wheelchair user we check the entrance, table height and toilet.
At the theatre we confirm an accessible seat and lift in advance.
We write about accessible travel in the family section.
The summer season
In summer part of Tbilisi heads to the sea or mountains, and some theatres close for the season.
On the other hand, there are more open-air concerts and festivals.
In Batumi and at resorts, summer evening bookings need to be made especially early.
Holidays
At New Year, Easter and other major holidays restaurants are either very busy or closed.
A New Year's Eve dinner is often sold as a separate programme paid in advance.
For these days we start booking weeks ahead.
Closing days
Some restaurants, theatres and museums close on a particular day of the week.
We allow for this in the day's plan in advance.
If the place you want is closed, we suggest a similar alternative.
Last-minute bookings
Finding a table or ticket at the last minute is often possible, especially on a weekday.
We cannot promise a table at a fully booked place, and we tell you so honestly.
In that case we send several alternatives with a similar atmosphere.
Waiting lists
Some restaurants and theatres keep a waiting list.
If you go on the list, we also book a back-up so the evening is not lost.
As soon as a place frees up, we let you know.
Confirmation
We reconfirm every booking with the venue the day before.
When confirming we double-check the time, number of guests and special requests.
We send you the confirmed details in one message, with the address and a map.
Changes on the spot
If something on the spot is not right, such as the table or the noise, write to us at once.
We look for a solution with the restaurant, such as another table.
We always make changes with your consent.
Complaints
If a venue did not keep to the agreement, write to us with photos and details.
We take up the complaint with the venue and let you know the outcome.
We no longer recommend such a place to future guests.
Corporate evenings
For a company dinner or reception we plan the room, menu, music and equipment together.
A large event needs a contract and prepayment, which you pay to the venue directly.
We write about corporate events in the events section.
Privacy
We book in your name or, at your request, under another name.
For a well-known guest we ask for a private room and a separate entrance.
We give the venue only as much of your data as the booking needs.
Tips and service
Many restaurants already add a service charge to the bill.
So read the bill carefully and leave a tip only if you wish.
We can always translate a Georgian bill from a photo.
Splitting the bill
In a group, tell the restaurant in advance if you want to split the bill.
Some restaurants happily take separate payments, others only one bill.
We check this when booking so there is no confusion at the end of the evening.
What we do not do
We do not sell tickets above face value or connect you with resellers.
We do not pay the bill on your behalf and do not accept prepayments ourselves.
We do not guarantee a table at a fully booked place unless the venue confirms it.
Common mistakes
Leaving a Saturday dinner or opera booking until the last day.
Not telling the restaurant about dietary needs or a nut allergy.
Buying tickets from a street or online reseller.
What we need from you
What you would like, on which day and at what time, and for how many people.
The mood, cuisine, budget and any dietary needs.
Special requests: a surprise, a view, accessibility or transport.
Cost
The venue sets the price, and you pay it directly on site or through official channels.
We take no commission from venues and add nothing to their prices.
Our fee for booking and coordination is separate and agreed in advance.
