Who provides the security

In Georgia security work is regulated by law, and only a company holding the relevant permit may carry it out. We are not such a company, and we say so plainly.

Our role is organisation: we choose a licensed partner, agree the format and tie the security into the logistics of the rest of your visit - the car, the hotel, the meetings. We tell you the partner's name before you sign.

Is it needed at all

Honestly: the vast majority of tourists do not need security. Georgia is considered safe for travellers, and an evening stroll through the streets of Tbilisi is an ordinary thing to do.

Security is justified when the risk lies with the person rather than the country: a public figure who is recognised, a sensitive negotiation, a specific threat or significant valuables. If none of these applies, we will tell you so.

The real risks for a traveller

In Georgia the biggest real risk for a traveller is the road, not crime. Mountain roads, night driving and an aggressive driving style - those are what cause problems most often.

So the most effective "security" is often a good driver in a reliable car, with no night driving in the mountains. That costs less than a security specialist and reduces the risk more.

The minor risks are the same as anywhere: pickpockets in crowded places, taxi overcharging, distraction at a market. For those, advice is enough - security is not needed.

Discreet escort

The most common format is one specialist in plain clothes. They move with you, check a place before you arrive, and behave so that from the outside they look like an assistant or a colleague.

Their job is prevention, not force: avoiding crowds, choosing the right entrance, knowing the way out. Most situations are resolved without anyone noticing.

This format works well on a business visit, when you are in meetings and do not want security to draw your counterpart's attention.

A close protection team

For a public figure or a high-risk visit, one person is not enough. A team has two to four specialists, each with a clear role: who is with you, who checks a place in advance, who stays with the car.

Protection like this needs detailed planning. Each day's route, every venue's entrances and exits, a fallback road - all of it is prepared before the visit.

A team is more visible than one person. So we often combine the two: one specialist close to you, the others at a distance, out of sight.

The security driver

Often the most important person in a security arrangement is the driver. Defensive-driving training, knowledge of the route and the right choice of car reduce the risk more than any other measure.

A security driver varies the route and does not take the same road every day. They stop the car so that leaving is easy, and do not switch the engine off until the passenger is inside the building.

In some cases that is everything that is needed: a good driver who thinks in security terms, without a separate specialist. We will tell you so in the assessment.

Advance route check

Before the visit a specialist looks over the places: the hotel, the meeting venues, the restaurants. Where the car stops, where the service entrance is, how many people will be there at a given hour.

The result is a written report, passed to the security team and, if needed, to your office. It includes a fallback option for each venue.

An advance check is often bought on its own, without security. For some people it is enough to know where they are going and what to expect - and then they move about on their own.

Weapons

Most security work is done unarmed, and that is normal. On a discreet escort a weapon is rarely needed and often the opposite - it draws unwanted attention.

Armed protection is only possible in the way the law sets out and with the appropriate permit. That is for the licensed partner to decide, and in every case we confirm in advance what is permitted.

Your own security staff from abroad cannot automatically carry a weapon in Georgia. That is the most common misunderstanding, and we clear it up before you arrive.

Your own security team from abroad

Many public figures travel with their own security. In Georgia they usually work alongside local licensed specialists who know the city, the language and the local rules.

The two teams agree how they will work before the visit: who is responsible for what, how they communicate, who leads. That should not be worked out on the spot.

The local part is often logistics: the car, the route, contact with the hotel and venues. Your team focuses on you, and ours on everything around you.

Event security

At a wedding, a reception or a private meeting the task is different: entrance control by guest list, politely seeing out an unwelcome guest, and keeping to the rules on photography.

We need the guest list in advance, and we decide with the organiser who may be admitted without being on it. The specialist at the door is always courteous - an event is a celebration, not a checkpoint.

If photography at the event is restricted, we let the guests know in advance. A place to leave phones can be arranged too, if the organiser wishes.

Families and children

Protecting a family is the most delicate format. Children should not be frightened by security, so to them the specialist appears as a family friend or an assistant.

In crowded places - a market, an event, an airport - the biggest risk is a child getting lost, and that is exactly where the attention goes. A meeting point is agreed in advance at every place.

If the family has a nanny, the security specialist works alongside her with a clearly separate role. The nanny looks after the child; the specialist looks after the surroundings.

A villa or a house

During a stay in a rented villa or house, security controls the entrance, keeps a night shift and records visitors. That matters especially outside the city, where the neighbours are far away.

When choosing a villa we check it from a security point of view: the number of entrances, the lighting, the fence, mobile coverage. Sometimes a beautiful villa is a poor choice in that respect, and we say so.

The shifts are planned so that security does not get in the way of family life. The specialist does not live in the house - they are on the grounds, separately.

What we do not do

We do not arrange surveillance of other people, we do not collect information on third parties, and we do not help with debt collection. That is not security, and we turn such requests down.

We do not arrange security whose purpose is to get round the law or avoid law enforcement. If that is apparent from a request, the conversation ends there.

And we do not arrange a "show of force" - conspicuous security meant to intimidate others. Our format is prevention, not display.

Confidentiality

As few people as possible know about the security arrangement. Your route, hotel and schedule are shared only with those who need them for the job.

Specialists and drivers sign a confidentiality agreement. They take no photos, post nothing on social media and do not talk about whom they have worked for.

The same rule applies on our side: we do not name the client and do not use them as a reference. That is the foundation of this service.

The police and 112

Security does not replace the police. In an incident the first call is to 112 - Georgia's single emergency number - and in the cities the patrol police generally respond quickly.

The security specialist's task at such a moment is to get you to a safe place, not to resolve the situation on their own. That is what the law says, and that is how it should be.

Our role afterwards is coordination: interpreting with the police, contact with your embassy and, if needed, with a lawyer. We arrange that without delay.

The press and unwanted attention

For a public figure the main "threat" is often attention rather than physical risk: photographers, fans, phone cameras. Here the job of security is to keep things calm.

The specialist does not take anyone's phone or use force - that is against the law and damages your image as well. They choose the venue so that you avoid crowds, and clear the way politely.

The most effective tool here is planning: a service entrance, an early arrival, the car right at the door. Sometimes a well-chosen hour does more than ten specialists.

How we choose the level of security

We start with an assessment conversation: who is arriving, how well known they are, what the purpose of the visit is, whether there is a specific threat. That conversation is confidential.

Following the assessment we propose a format - sometimes less than you expected. If a security driver is enough, we will not offer you a team.

If the situation changes during the visit - for example, an event suddenly draws a lot of attention - we raise the level quickly. The licensed partner keeps a reserve for exactly that.

Language and communication

The specialists speak Georgian, Russian and English; we plan in advance if another language is needed. Language matters in security - you need to understand an instruction exactly, especially in a fast-moving situation.

The team communicates by radio or a closed channel. You have one number to reach them, and it is staffed all day.

We often agree simple code words - for example, "let's go" means leaving at once, without explanation. In a delicate situation that rules out unnecessary talk.

Contract and insurance

Security services are always put in writing: the contract sets out the format, the number of staff, the hours, the responsibilities and what is not included.

The licensed partner carries liability insurance, and we check that before the contract. For corporate clients this is often a mandatory condition.

Payment is by bank transfer, against an invoice. If your company has its own contract template, we can work with that too.

Booking and lead times

A discreet escort or a security driver can usually be arranged within 72 hours. A close protection team and an advance route check need more time - a week or more.

Event security is planned weeks ahead, because the guest list, the venue check and the agreement with the organiser all take time.

An urgent request is also considered if the situation changes unexpectedly. But security arranged in a hurry is always less complete than security that has been planned.

What we need from you

The dates of the visit, the route and the meeting venues, as far as they can be disclosed. The fuller the information, the more precise the planning.

Information about the risk: whether there is a specific threat, whether there has been an incident in the past, who might be interested. All of this stays confidential.

And a contact - you or someone in your office with whom we agree decisions. In security, one clear contact is worth more than ten phone calls.

A woman travelling alone

Georgia is considered safe for a woman travelling alone too, and in this case security is usually not needed either. A reliable driver, a well-chosen hotel and avoiding deserted places at night are enough.

Sometimes the request comes up all the same - for example, for a woman in the public eye who is recognised, or for a business visit that ends late at night. In that case a female specialist can be requested.

A female specialist often blends in more naturally: she looks like a friend or a colleague and goes everywhere with you. We arrange this in advance, because such a specialist is not always available.
